Aircel to launch 3G services before cricket world cup

INDIA, Feb. 9 -- In a strategic move, Aircel today announced it will launch 3G services on all telecom circles where the company has won spectrum for the services before the cricket world cup starts.

The tariff will be competitive said Gurdeep Singh, CEO, Aircel.

On high speed internet, Singh said it will be launched by year end.

Aircel had won 3G spectrum in 13 circles in auction and broadband wireless access (BWA) spectrum in 8 circles.

Other Indian service providers, Tata Docomo, BSNL, MTNL and Airtel have already rolled out their 3G services.
